Like most games of this genre, a map is offered and while you discover new areas it will be detailed on your map as well. The early stage of the game requires a large amount of learning and I can say players who have never experienced this type of genre will have a huge learning curve to endure. Though running on console it still feels very much like a PC game that’s been broken down and inelegantly reconstituted in a manner that doesn’t particularly fit the platform. The interface panel isn’t an ideal solution to accessing the many different panels that are available. Some awesome abilities such as ranged area of effect, damage over time, summons, variety of heals and status effects offers players a wide variety of options to keep fights interesting as the game is very combat focused.įor those who have little to no experience with this type of genre may find it quite difficult to understand the combat system, character statistics, rune combinations and mastering the combat arts as well as going through the interface. The combat system was pulled off quite well in Sacred 2 in comparison to many other RPGs. The interface also offers combos in which you can combine multiple combat arts to be linked into one button allowing you to further enhance your abilities. A total of 12 abilities can be assigned to your buttons which offers a wide variety of actions at your disposal. Each class has their own set of abilities called combat arts which can be assigned to face buttons and with by holding the triggers you have access to even more. The world has plenty of fantasy creatures from simple wolves, zombies and dragon whelps all for you to bash away at to fine-tune your character’s skill set. Each game world also has a separate difficulty setting which has a minimum level requirement to enter. There are 6 playable character classes in which you can plow through the fictional realm of Ancaria in either light or dark campaigns. The game continues just like this which makes it very simple and fun for those who just likes to go out and bash on mobs or other players and continuing to further enhance their own character and gameplay. After all that, you’re right back into the battlefield taking up on new foes and completing more quests which will net you more money and better gear, which in turn making your character even stronger. As you level up, you’ll gain new abilities, stats and as you approach new towns you can purchase better gears, power up your skills and other various tasks that will help advance your character. Again, the reason you’re playing this game is because you enjoy building up your characters and further enhancing yourself as well as pounding down mobs or other players.įor those who aren’t familiar with the Diablo-style, MMORPGs or other games with this particular genre, you basically run around, kill things and loot away. Some of the quests can have wacky goals and are quite humorous, but most are still very common which includes standard fetch, escort or kill tasks. The best part of questing is that they are simple slaughter, loot and repeat with others either solo or online. Majority of the quests are merely side quests which did not relate to the main storyline. The story and quest structures are very similar to how you see many MMOs today, traveling from town to town picking up quests along the way and completing them for rewards. Just like Diablo, its pretty much a quick hack and slash, loot, rinse and repeat. The Diablo-style action-RPG was released for PC earlier last year, offering players 6 playable classes, various skill combinations and a large world to explore.
